How often have you stood in your kitchen staring at the clock and realizing “I need to be out the door in under five minutes!” How often have you promised yourself you’d eat something later…only to be hungry at 10 a.m. and go running for whatever was closest to your face (pastry/vending machine/you name it).
If you’ve been there too, congratulations—you’re not the only one! Life can sometimes feel like a race in the morning—between getting yourself and everyone else ready, commuting, catching up on emails, and other things, chances are that breakfast or lunch gets pushed aside as a casualty.
What you may not realize, though, is how these quick mornings will affect your whole day. Without nourishing foods to kickstart your morning, chances are that you’re going to feel hungrier more quickly, struggle with making healthy decisions through out the day, or even run low on energy throughout the morning.
So, it’s no wonder why we think it’s a brilliant idea to prepare some grab and go healthy snacks for those hectic mornings!
It won’t involve complicated dishes that will require hours of cooking & prepping, though… Some of the best ones will actually take you under five minutes to throw together and easily transport anywhere you need them. So let’s look into some ideas that work best if you don’t have lots of extra time to spend cooking every morning.
Snacking doesn’t have to be another thing on your to-do list—it’s an opportunity for self-care! Instead of relying on ultra-processed “convenience” foods, try using some of our favorite nourishing ingredient combinations (like fruits + yogurt, nuts & seeds + whole grains, or legumes) to create deliciously healthy portable snacking options for when life gets busy.
